PHE Workers Welfare Association holds massive protest

Jammu Jan 10: PHE employees from Jammu Division held strong protest in support of their demands at office premises of Chief Engineer PHE Department at BC Road here today.
The rally was organized under the leadership of Bakshi Singh Provincial President of the Association in which hundreds of PHE Employees/daiiy rated workers from far flung areas of all the PHE Divisions of Jammu regions viz., Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Jammu, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Nowshera, Dannari, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Rajouri, Poonch and Gandoh etc participated to protest against alleged anti-workers policies and the delaying tactics as adopted by the Minister for PHE/irrigation and Flood Control Department and authorities at helms of affairs. Raising slogans in support of their demands, the protestor alleged that Minister for PHE has miserably failed in conceding the all pending demands of the PhE employees particularly of daily rated workers viz, Regularization of all workers those who have completed 5 years tenure, disbursement of wages to the all workers on monthly basis, release of all pending wages of workers, appointment of one family member of the deceased daily wager who dies in harness, confirmation of pay scales as given to the leftout employees as per SRO-59 and remove the stagnation and change the designations of field and operational staff as per their present assignments etc. While addressing to the PHE workers at the rally venue Subash Verma provincial general secretary of the Association said that the State Govt is misleading and befooling the innocent workers for the last so many years. Bakshi Singh provincial president of the association said that State Govt. and its minister has not shown even little sympathy with the workers who are struggling for their genuine demands and warned the State Govt to further intensify their stir in support of their demands
Prominent who addressed the protest were Rattan Doshi, Bansi Lal, Chuni Lal, S Surjit Singh, Altaf Hussain Shah, Ram Labhaya, Raehh Paul Singh, Kuldip Sharma, Joginder Singh, Rajinder Kumar, Purkh Singh, Manzoor Ali, Rashid Jaral, Irshad Hussain Beg and Tilak Raj.
