Billawar, Jan 11: ASHA Workers Union Block Billawar held meeting at Sub-District Hospital complex here today in which workers of all the zones were participated.
According to press release, the meeting was organised under the chairmanship of its block president, Darshana Devi.
While addressing the meeting, Sham Prasad Kesar, senior leader of CITU said that ASHA workers play a crucial role in enabling the poor population to access the public health services, their work has increased in institutional deliveries, as well as prompt identification of infectious diseases and steps to deal with them. Their workload has increased manyfolds while the payment given to them is so meagre.
The recommendations of the '45thIndian Labour Conference' are still not implemented so far by the authority concerned, Kesar added.
In the meeting all the workers have unanimously decided to participate in the protest demonstration which is scheduled to be held on January 20 at Press Club Jammu on the call of all India Organisations of Scheme workers.
