Army paid crores as rent for 1424.1 kanal of land under Pak occupation

JAMMU, Apr 17: Army has paid crores of rupees as rent for 1424.1 Kanals of land located either in the no man's land or in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
According to the document assessed by Early Times, there are all together 9 reported cases relating to alleged payment of rent for land in Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK). Out of these cases, State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has filed FIR in 01 case and CBI has filed FIR in 02 other cases. Remaining cases are under confidential verification by CBI. But even in FIRs lodged by both CBI and SVO, not much headway has been made in the last more than 10 years.
In the first case, the area of land is 265 Kanals 01 Marla in Village Khamba, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. The land is under occupation since April 1, 1972 and rental payment has been made upto March 31, 2003. State Vigilance Organization filed FIR No. 01/2005. After investigation it was concluded that revenue documents were forged by the State Revenue officials and the land was either under occupation of Pakistan or is located in no man's land.
In the second case, area of land is 122 Kanals 18 Marlas in Village Khamba in Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. The land is under occupation since April 01, 1972 and rental payment has been made upto March 31, 2003 for hired land. CBI filed FIR No. RC004 2017 A0001 dated 30-01-2017.
Case is sub-Judice in the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir, as land owners have filed contempt petition alleging non payment of rent after March 31-03-2003 as ordered by High Court in their writ petition No, 1235/2015. Darshan Kumar, the then Patwari, one of the suspected accused in the FIR, filed WP No. 89/2017 in which High Court stayed operation of the FIR.
In the third case, area of land is 258 Kanals 13 Marlas in Village Khamba, Tehsil Nowshera, District Ra

In the fourth case, area of land is 334 Kanals 15 Marlas in Village Khamba, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. The land is under occupation since April 1, 1972 while rental payment has been made upto March 31, 2003. CBI (ACB), Jammu is, presently, carrying out confidential verifications.
Fifth case pertains to the 65 Kanals 07 Marlas land in Village Khamba in Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. Land is under occupation since October 01, 1971 and rental payment has been made upto March 31, 2003. CBI (ACB), Jammu is, presently, carrying out confidential verifications.
Sixth case relates to the 261 Kanals 03 Marlas of land in Village Khamba, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. The land is under occupation since October 01, 1971 and rental payment has been made upto31-03-2003. CBI (ACB), Jammu is, presently, carrying out confidential verifications.
In the seventh case, area of the land is 22 Kanals in Village Sarya, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. Land is under occupation since April 01, 1972 and rental payment has been made upto30/09/2015. CBI (ACB), Jammu is, presently, carrying out confidential verifications.
Eighth case pertains to 81 Kanals 02 Marlas of land in Village Sarya, Tehsil Nowshera, District Rajouri. The land is under occupation since April 01, 1973 and rental payment has been made upto September 30, 2014. CBI (ACB), Jammu is, presently, carrying out confidential verifications.
The 9th case pertaining to 13 Kanals 02 Marlas in Village Tetrinote, Tehsil Haveli, District Poonch which is also under occupation since September 01, 1965 and whose rental payment has been made upto September 30, 2015 is also under confidential verification with CBI(ACB).
