Contractual employees demand regularization of service

Rajouri, Sept 23: Provisional President, JKNHM Rohit Seth today held a meeting with District NHM body, Rajouri at Children park Rajouri. In the meeting, he said that the Govt. has assured the union for regularization of their services. In the meeting, future course of action is discussed. He emphasized the district body to strengthen the union and urged the body for maximum participation in future protests and strikes if govt. fail to constitute a policy for regularisation. It is pertinent to mention here that, NHM employees staging protest for last many years demanding regularization of services. Supreme Court in a verdict ordered Central Govt. to implement equal pay for equal work and mentioned it as un constitutional to engage employees at such meager salary but the govt. has done nothing in this regard so far. He further added that NHM employees work round the clock in health institutions to provide better health care facilities to general public. NHM employees have completed more than nine years of contractual services and most of the employees have crossed their age bar limit. They said that all the employees working under NHM including doctors, para medicals, management staff and others are working from last nine years with zeal and zest have been denied their genuine rights of regularization, equal work equal pay, implementation of SRO 255.
