Jammu, Sept 23: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology organized a two-days workshop on Raspberry Pi in association with IIT, Varanasi. The workshop was organized for final year students of Computer Science and IT engineering. It was inaugurated by Dr. Arvind Dewangan, Director, YCET on 22nd of September, 2017 where among others, Dr. Sandeep Malik, Dean, YCET, Heads of all the Departments, Er. B.R. Verma, Chief Coordinator and R.S. Dalpatia, Deputy Registrar present on the occasion. Er. Liqzan Manna was the resource person from IIT, Varanasi, who successfully conducted the workshop with interactive sessions. It was also attended by all faculty members of the department of Computer Science and IT engineering.
The objective of the workshop was to create a platform to explore beyond the academic syllabus and help the students to try different types of engineering projects. On the first day participants were given an insight of raspberry pi and its various applications. And on the 23rdof September (second day), the students were explained the basic procedures for working with raspberry pi. The students were divided into fourteen teams and worked on seven different projects. Raspberry Pi is a micro-computer, which can be used to implement different types of projects. It offers a choice of programming languages like Python, C, C++, Java, Scratch, and Ruby all of which come installed by default on the Raspberry Pi. These embedded systems require less operating time, compact in size and have high efficiency.
