BJP demands equal share for Jammu, calls for CC meeting
Regularization of daily wagers
12/13/2017 11:23:30 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 13: The coordination committee of the BJP and PDP would be meeting shortly to work out the modalities on the regularisation of the 60,000 daily wagers. The decision in this regard was announced by the Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehboooba Mufti on twitter on Wednesday.
According to the sources the BJP has called for the meeting after the decision was taken to ensure that there is equitable distribution in the regularisation process.
The sources said that BJP has communicated its desire for the same to the Chief Minister who then decided to call a meeting of the coordination committee.
"We want to discuss the process and how the daily wagers from all three regions would be regularized. We want to ensure that all the three regions get an equal share," said a senior BJP leader.
Sources said that BJP is 'quite' serious on this front as it will be one of the major announcements on job regularisation in the state and the party wants to take equal credit for it.
"We have already been facing flak over the selection process by the SSB and PSC as accusations have been leveled that Jammu region has been ignored. Now, it has much larger number than the entire earlier selection process. So if this done in the manner that the Jammu region gets its share than it would negate the earlier criticism to a large extent," said the sources.
The sources said that once the selection process is done in a manner as desired by the BJP than it could turn out be a major political point to regain the 'lost' political ground.
"Our popularity graph has declined due to the underperformance of our ministers and MLA, who have lost contact with the ground. But once the Jammu region gets an equal share it will help us," said the sources.
