Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 14: The Cluster University of Jammu has sought double master degree as eligibility criteria for the post of Assistant Professor in Education subject, whereas three other Universities in the state have sought only one master degree as eligibility for the same post.
The aspirants informed Early Times that Cluster University of Jammu had advertised some posts of Assistant professor vide notification number 14 of 2017 dated Dec/7/2017. "The eligibility criteria mentioned for the post of Assistant professor for the subject Education has been mentioned as double post graduate like MA and M.ED, which is in gross violation of UGC norms", the applicants alleged, adding that NCTE regulations are not applicable in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, so the eligibility criteria for the post of AP in Education is single post graduation with NET and Ph.D.
The aspirants further said that the Cluster University of Kashmir had recently advertised some posts of APs in Education subject and the eligibility was single PG with NET and Ph.D, whereas the Central University of Jammu had also advertised the posts of AP for Education subject and eligibility criteria for the same was single PG with NET and Ph.D as per employment notification number 16 dated 06-11-2017.
The aspirants said that the contractual faculty working in Colleges of Education both in Jammu and Kashmir are recruited by Higher Education department but the eligibility for the same was single PG with NET and Ph.D.
"There is no difference between course structure of MA Education and M.ED, then why there is gross violation to those qualified candidate with high academic profile who pursued masters as an M.ED professional degree", the aspirants alleged, adding that the eligibility criteria sought by Cluster University of Jammu was of NCET regulations which were not applicable in Jammu and Kashmir.
The eligibility criteria as per UGC regulations was single degree and not both, which should be revised. "The Central University of Jammu is also running M.Ed course whereas Cluster University of Kashmir is also running M.Ed course and they had also sought same eligibility criteria as single degree not double degree as sought by Cluster University of Jammu, which must be revised", they said.
Registrar of Cluster University of Jammu, Jatinder Khajuria said that the Cluster University required Assistant Professors for M.Ed course and the eligibility criteria sought by University was as per UGC regulations.
