Minister, Bureaucrat speaking in conflicting tones
Confusion, Chaos within administration
12/14/2017 11:22:31 PM
Early Times Report
jammu, Dec 14: The confusion prevailing within the state dispensation came to fore recently when a minister and a senior bureaucrat were seen speaking in different tones over a vital issue.
While the bureaucrat had earlier stated that the government had imposed a blanket ban on government teachers to teach in the private coaching centres, the ministers, merely two days of this announcement spoke contrary to what the senior officer of his department had said.
The senior officer of the education department had stated that the government teachers cannot teach in the private coaching centres and that any one found guilty of violating the norms shall be dealt with strictly.
However, the minister issued a public statement, saying that no such order has ever been issued. He added that government teachers are free to teach anywhere they want and that there is no approval needed for the same.
The minister maintained that all the teachers who want to teach in private coaching centers need to do is to just inform the government. "They don't need approval. They can just keep us informed," the minister was qouted earlier by the reports as having said.
"The only thing is that the teachers shouldn't teach in private coaching centres during the office hours. Other than that the government has no objection at all. Why should one halt the spread of knowledge," minister said.
Earlier, there were speculations that the government had imposed a blanket ban on the private coaching of government teachers and those involved in such practise would be dealt with seriously. "No such order was ever issued. The Government has only asked the teachers not to teach anywhere except schools during the office hours. During winters, they can," education minister said.
Meanwhile, the insiders of the department divulge that the contrary statements from the senior officer and the minister have given rise to confusion.
