Absconding accused in snatching case held

Jammu, Jan 12: Gandhi Nagar police today claimed to have arrested two accused who were absconding in snatching case and recovered one country made pistol (Desi Katta) from their possession. Police spokesman said that on Jan 03 of 2018 a complaint was lodged by Akshay Gupta of Gandhi Nagar Near Laxmi Narayan Mandir Jammu that on Jan 2 of 2018 his father namely Vinod Gupta owner of M/S Fashion Fab. (Cantabil) Apsara Road Gandhi Nagar was attacked with iron rods by some unknown persons and snatched his bag containing cash.
On this a case under FIR No. 01/2018 under section 307/341/323/382 of RPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar police station and investigation was started.
The team of Gandhi Nagar police station arrested one suspect namely Kuldeep Raj alias Nikka of Melowal, RS Pura Jammu who during sustained questioning confessed his involvement in the commission of crime and disclosed the names of his other three associates namely Gurpreet Singh alias Kali of Kotli Shah Doula RS Pura Jammu, Rajat Kumar and Rohit Kumar both residents of Kotli Shah Doula RS Pura.
Pertinent to mention here that accused Gurpreet Singh alias Kali has also been arrested with weapon of offence i.e. one iron rod and snatched cash Rs 38,000.
On January 11, the team arrested the two absconding accused persons namely Rajat Kumar and Rohit Kumar and on sustained questioning one country made pistol (Desi Katta) along with two live rounds has been recovered on the disclosure of the arrested accused namely Rajat Kumar. In this regard a case under FIR No. 10/2018 U/S 3/25 Arms Act has been registered at Gandhi Nagar police station. The arrest and recovery has been made by a team headed by Insp. Sunil Singh Jasrotia SHO Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Sandeep Chauhan under the supervision of SDPO City South Rafiq Manhas, SP City South Sandeep Choudhary.
