Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 23: J&K Freedom Fighters Association (JKFFA) on Tuesday held an impressive function to remember Neta Ji Subash Chander Bose a 'Star' of the freedom struggle, who raised his own army to fight the British Rule and scarified everything in his fight. The function was organized at Dogra Shaurya Sthal Amphalla here which was organised by Ved Gandotra, JKFFA President while S Charanjit Singh Raina was the Chief Guest and Sushil Sharma was the Guest of Honour. The function was organised to mark the 121st Birth Anniversary of Neta Ji who in the prime of his youth and even attaining higher education and coming from a well respected and reputed family, joined the freedom struggle, along with Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Abdul Kalam Azad and Sardar Patel and other leaders to get the mother-land free from the slavery of the British empire. Floral tributes were paid to the great martyr by showering flowers on the photograph of Neta ji by the members of the association and the children of Luthra Academy Kachi Chawani, who chanted National Anthem while waving Tricolours. Candles were lit and a two minutes silence was also observed in his honour. The members said Netaji Subash Chander Bose was a great leader, who was elected as the President of the Congress Party, but due to differences with Jawahar Lal Nehru, he quït the Congress and determined to fight the British forces on his own. The members regretted that the dreams of self-less martyrs were shattered by the post-independent leadership, the bureaucracy, the police and every government servant who started a spree and loot, since 70 years ago and have still not ended. |
