Jammu, Jan 23: Residents of the Marwah on Tuesday staged a protest against the police.
Protesters said that Police arrested a SPO Mohammad Yaseen who had decamped with weapon from police station Marwah. "He was arrested from Kachpath Renie area of Marwah from the house of one Abdul Rashid," they said.
They demanded action against all those persons who tried to destabilize the peace and tranquility in the area through political based target killings. The people slammed the police statement in which the arrested SPO was shown arrested from forest area rather than from the house of a local person who in past had remain closely associated with dread militant outfit Lashker-e-Tobia.
After public outcry and surfacing the name of former Minister of State for Home Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo as possible target of the newly created militant group, the people term it as an attempt to stop political activities in the area ahead of upcoming proposed Panchayat election.
Similar protest was also held by the National Conference at Kishtwar who demanded for judicial probe into the matter.
Angry NC activist blamed Kishtwar police off cover up as the said SPO turn militant was arrested from the house of local ruling party activist while the person Reyaz Ahmed arrested by the police along with the SPO also had links with ruling dispensation. They said that in case the guilty persons involved in framing conspiracy to kill Kichloo and other National Conference activist in Marwah and its adjoining area will be allowed to roam free, the party will take to the streets.

The sources said that a territorial army personal posted in the area played a key role in unmasking the new terror plot and succeded in arresting the SPO and his associate.
Talking to "Early Times" MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo called for a high level impartial probe into the incident added that he feel worrysome about his party activist in the area and called upon the government to strengthen their security.
