Distt admin arranges helicopter on concession rates to shift PHE employee GMCH Jammu for specialized treatment

Poonch, Apr 15: District administration has arranged a helicopter services to shift a PHE employee to GMCH Jammu for specialized treatment following his deteriorating health condition. He was operated upon for appendicitis twice in Mendhar the other day, source said here today.
Shahid Khan a JE in PHE Department S10ub-division Mendhar was operated upon for appendicitis in SDH Mendhar twice without having availablity of oxygen in the operation theatre at that time.
He was re-stiched and taken hurriedly to DH Poonch by the doctors on Saturday. He got highly infected with Jaundice disease and was flown to Govt Medical College and Hospital Jammu for specialized treatment as the patient's health condition was going bad to worse.
While talking to Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr Mumtaz Bhat told Early Times the approximate expenditure of Helicopter services has been estimated around Rs 1.5 lakh and the patient has to pay only 32000 while rest of the amount will be borne by the district administration he said, adding on the request of DDC Mohd Aijaz Asad the helicopter was arranged to take the PHE employee to Jammu. When asked whether the facility was also available for common people too, he said in Shahid's case it was need of the hour and failed to admit that it was sheer negligence on the part of medicos and Para medics posted at SDH Mendhar.
