Early Times Report

Srinagar, Apr 15: In a worst case of making institutions of probity redundant, a police officer (Dy SP) who was Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in Magam district Budgam few years back has undertaken an investigation into a fake M Ed degree certificate issued by Chowdhary Charan Singh University Meerut, to a government teacher has given a clean chit contradicting the investigation by the crime branch. Police Officer as per reliable sources gave his positive report saying degree was authentic but on the other hand Crime Branch of J&K Police which had already carried out an investigation says in a written communication copy of which is with Early Times that said degree was a fake.
The ReT teacher inspite of her fake degree continues to work in education zone Narbal Budgam while the genuine and meritorious candidate who was eligible for the job is moving from pillar to post from last 5 years to seek justice.
Details available with Early Times reveal that in response to an RTI query of Khurshid Ahmad, seeking authenticity of the M Ed degree of the teacher in question, the PIO provided of CCS University Meerut replied that degree was fake.
When CB took up the matter with CCSU Meerut, it was again revealed that degree certificate was fake. Vide Letter No: CBK/CLT/31/13-3226 Dated 4.4.2014, CB communicated this to Commissioner Secretary School Education Department Govt of J&K, but in the meantime CB asked SDPO Magam to again investigate the matter. Interestingly, the said officer reported that the degree was genuine.
Sources say that Zonal Education Officer Narbal who had earlier said that MEd Degree was fake , once again authenticated the fact, but the verification order was issued by hand to the fake appointee who scanned & forged the report and same was filed before court of law. But the department is not taking up this matter with the High Court.
