For containing the erupting worst situation Still time is there to act swiftly

R B Suri
An old proverb is there that "Stitch in time saves nine". Still there is a time to act upon very swiftly in order to avoid the situation to go into worst scenario from where there will not be any point of return so easily . It is the high time to take the precautionary measures without any further delay. Time and tide wait for none. Again this another proverb which substantiate the issue involved. The situation in the valley is becoming worst day by day. Now the students of the colleges and schools boys in general and the girls in particular have also jumped into the fray and are also pelting stones on the Army / Police and are raising their voices in favour of Azadi and against the security forces of the country. This is very shocking and unfortunate . Having seen and experienced the on going quagmire existing in the Kashmir valley since 1989, the question arises in the minds of every citizen of this land as to how far it will go on like this. Kashmir unrest has attained a volcanic stage as on today. Militants organizations in the valley aided and funded liberally by the Pakistan rulers. Who are acting very deadly causing the heavy losses to the Indian Army. J&K has become a quagmire of all this non sense. How long it will go as it is . It is a serious matter for all of us in this country . There is a need to probe in depthly as to who is the responsible for all this . Authorities at the helm of affairs had allowed it to grow more and more. Thousand cores of rupees have just gone in waste. Kashmir is burning these days because of non seriousness attitude of the State and the Central Governments since independence. They have made Kashmir as a mess . After 1987, Jammu and Kashmir never remained stable and there always remained the uncertainty and almost total lawlessness as prevailed therein the state. All over quagmire existed and is still on thereby leaving no scope for the stability and development of the state . The militants outfits and the separatists are very much busy in destroying the peaceful atmosphere in the valley particularly at the behest of the neighboring country Pakistan.Hurriayat is giving the calls of shut down almost everyday throughout Srinagar and all over the valley , the people are coming out from their houses and participating in the protests and demonstrations actively . The leadership of the Separatists is not interested to see the upliftment of the poor masses of the valley but they are mindless offensive and taking the people at ransom . They don't want that the valley people should progress in this competitive World . It is a hard fact of life that there exists the best talent in the valley as the youth of the valley are very intelligent and sharp in their aptitudes . It has been seen in the past they made the dent in the country's competition examination history in which one of them scaled the top rank 1 in IAS in the civil services examination . The governmental agencies were claiming that the demonetization of the currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 has led to the checking of the stone pelting violence incidents in the valley has been put to halt but it is very strange that all of a sudden it has erupted once again which need to be probed on priority. Being the elder brother, the Prime Minister Narender Modi should take the lead and bold initiative to talk to the younger brother Pakistani counterpart as has been suggested and requested by the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti many a times . Similar demand has been raised by the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Farooq Abdullah time and again to start the dialogue process with Pakistan as the war, according to him, is not the ultimate solution to the problem of Kashmir as both the countries are nuclear powers in the subcontinent. Not only this, it is pertinent to mention here that Pak friendly nation CHINA is also a nuclear power in the region . In the event of WAR , Dr. Abdullah further stated that crores of people would die to which we should be afraid of the consequences . At the moment, a stalemate is going on as to who takes the initiative for holding a Dialogue between the two nations - India and Pakistan It is worth while to state here that the Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India met and interacted with each other in Thailand last year as reported by the International media . What transpired between them is not known to anybody as it was not made public and the officers who are at the helm of affairs are tight lipped on the issue involved. To begin with, on this score , the Foreign Secretaries of Pakistan and India should meet together at some place as convenient to them and make the suitable ground for the Prime Ministers of both the countries for holding the talks on Kashmir . It is a hard fact that there is no substitute to the Dialogue Process which should be initiated at the earliest possible without any further loss of time . Dr. Abdullah further advanced his argument that if war occurs between the two nations and after the war again the dialogue is must to reach out at some workable settlement of Kashmir issue .Still time is there to act swiftly in this regard otherwise the situation in Kashmir will go out of hands . Let the Army to do its duties faithfully in protecting the borders of the country as also protecting the lives of the subjects of this land who are being killed by the militant across the borders without any fault of theirs . I am of the view that before holding the talks on the issue involved a precondition be fixed by Indian Government that Pakistan will not make a single cease fire violation in one month at least . If so happens actually on the International Border (IB) and the line of control (LOC), then only, the talks can be possible otherwise in the event of failure to do so by the Pakistani Rulers, Indian Government should give a signal to Pakistan to be ready for the War as Atal ji once told PAK in an unequivocal term when the Lok Sabha passed a unanimous resolution in 1994 to vacate POK from the clutches of the Pakistan. Let it be a litmus test first before starting the dialogue process between the two nations India and Pakistan . Bloodshed is not controlled at all as the State Government has failed on all the fronts . Last month several incidence of violence and stone pelting have occurred in the valley over the vehicles of the visiting tourists were stoned in which some of them received the injuries . Height of the situation that in the functions presided over by the Governor Vohra was conspicuous by the absence of the state ministers as they are maintaining the distance with the mala fide intention. Really the situation in the valley have taken the new shape. Not only this, the Ministers are not going in their respective constituencies resulting which the gap between them and the people is being widened . The ousting of the two cabinet ministers Lal Singh and Chander Parkash Ganga from the Coalition Government got the major jolt which stands covered by the visit of Ram Madhav All India General Secretary of BJP who briefed the media that coalition Government would work as per the contents of the Agenda of Alliance in the days to come . But on the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the valley there should be any hindrance or the obstruction in the working of the Army and security forces of the country.
