Patwaris' strike enters 9th day, public works continue to suffer
5/22/2018 11:08:07 PM
Early Times Report

KISHTWAR, May 22: As the ongoing strike by All Jammu and Kashmir Patwar Association District Kishtwar today entered the 9th day at District Headquarter Kishtwar and far flung Tehsil Headquarters including Chatroo and Bunjwah, the poor public who had arrived from different parts of Kishtwar District are continuously suffering for the want of revenue documents.
During the course of strike, the representatives of District body expressed their gratitude and indebtedness to the association members of the districts Jammu, Kathua and Samba who are on strike in this scorching summer season where temperatures soar in excess of 40°C. The association members unanimously agreed to extend the strike programme till the written assurance from government in respect of the fulfillment of all demands is made.
The District Patwar association Kishtwar has demanded the state body to include one more demand as "Abolition of all types of treasury fees for BPL and female applicants" as such practice is against the tenets of principles of natural justice where government on one side promises free service to BPL families and on the other side charge them for every Revenue related work.
The association has threatened to carry on with the strike programme in unison till all the demands are met by the government.
The president Patwar Association Kishtwar Nisar Ahmed Butt expressed regret over the hardships being faced by the general public due to ongoing strike programme and has assured that once the demands are met, the association will ensure special camps to redress all revenue related issues of general public.
Meanwhile speaking to Early Times, the people who are facing the problem due to strike called upon the government to look into the issue at an earliest so that the public sufferings could come to an end.
