Pak intensifies firing along LoC, IB overturns peace initiative
5/22/2018 11:55:09 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 22: Since the day holy month of Ramadan has commenced, Pakistan has intensified the firing on the Line of Control and the International Border in Jammu sector.
Death of an eight month old infant in Pakistan firing in Aknoor's Pallanwala sector has triggered outrage across the Jammu region. "Pakistan army has intensified the firing since the day Government of India announced Ramadan ceasefire in J&K. It seems that Pakistan is not interested in peace and its thirst for human blood seems unending," said a defence analyst.
He said that Pakistan army resorting to unprovoked firing has made the lives of border dwellers miserable. "Political leadership needs to take a stand and give a free hand to the army to cross the Line of Control (LoC) and give a befitting reply to the violence mongers," he added.
A member of a civil society said that Pakistan army has no respect for women and children. "Despite Pakistan being a Muslim country it has not shown any respect and regard for the holy month of Ramadan. People who are sitting across the LoC are only interested in violence," he said. "Political leadership need to take a call and end this war once for all. After facing a befitting defeat in 1971 war and other conventional wars Pakistan has been fighting a proxy war in Jammu and Kashmir to avenge the defeats it faced. Now time has come to take the bull once again by its horn and fight a decisive war with Pakistan to end the miseries of the denizens of Jammu and Kashmir."
A politician, wishing not to be named said, "When BJP was in the Opposition it used to claim that it would teach Pakistan a lesson and would address the root cause of terrorism."
He said that it's strange that top BJP leadership leaves no opportunity top pat its back for Indian Army carrying out surgical strikes in Pakistan occupied Kashmir in 2016. "Someone needs to remind the top BJP leaders who is stopping them from carrying out more strikes and eliminating the terrorists and their bosses," the politician said, adding, "People of Jammu had reposed faith in BJP with a hope that it would end their miseries and would tame Pakistan and its army. Unfortunately the tall promises made by the BJP leaders have remained confined to their speeches only. They have not fulfilled their promises and are busy appeasing the Kashmir centric politicians and others."
He said that time is running out for BJP it needs to put its act together and give Indian Army a free hand to deal with the situation. "Pakistan doesn't understand the language of peace it has to be dealt with sternly to end the prevailing uncertainty once for all," he added.
