Early Times Report

Jammu, May 22: Father of a 13 year old girl on Tuesday alleged that a worker of ruling BJP married his minor daughter forcibly.
Addressing media persons, Gulzar Hussain said the accused allegedly solemnized marriage with his minor daughter forcefully and police have not taken any action against him.
Demanding justice from Chief Minister of the state Hussain said the accused of Thandapani is affiliated with Bharatiya Janta party (BJP) and he along with his accomplices hatched a criminal conspiracy against his daughter who is student of 9th class.
He alleged that in the month of November of 2017 the accused started building pressure on his family to get his daughter married to him. "I told him that my daughter is a minor and marriage cannot be solemnized till she attains the marriageable age."
The accused, who is a very influential man, threatened me of dire consequences and started abusing me and my family and caused a lot of mental trauma to my family.
"On December 17, 2017 the accused and his accomplices suddenly came to my house for the Nikkah ceremony and coerced my daughter to say yes," he alleged.
"Moulvi without performing any Nikkah ceremony issued fake/false/forged Nikkah nama and threatened me of dire consequences if I approach police or court."
"On May 10, 2017 my daughter was on way to school. She was intercepted at Thandapani by the accused and attempt was made to rape her. She was saved by some unknown person who were travelling on a motorcycle. Later we filed a written complaint with SHO Sunderbani for lodging a FIR against the accused but the SHO refused to take action," Hussain said.
