Anger against BJP for turning border residents 'sitting ducks'
5/23/2018 11:47:29 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, May 23: As killings of civilians are going unabated on the International Border (IB) strong anger is brewing against BJP in the border belts as there is feeling among helpless border residents that the Saffron Party has let them down badly. Instead of standing with them at the time of need, BJP leaders are sitting in AC rooms and have left them at the mercy of Pakistan.
This vulnerable section of the society, lives on the borders, feels that to reap political benefits in other parts of the country the BJP has virtually made them "sitting ducks" by not making any elaborate arrangements for their security of lives and that of their livestock.
Border residents have reasons to vent their anger against BJP because in 2014 Lok Sabha elections followed by assembly polls in the same year they had voted over-whelmingly in support of the Saffron Party with a hope that the party would ensure their security and safety. It was first in the political history of J&K that BJP had won all the border assembly segments, but one, of Kathua, Samba and Jammu distrcts in the 2014 polls but after becoming part of the government the BJP has failed to fulfill promises which the party had made with border residents.
Killng of civilians has become a routine affair in the border areas but BJP ministers in the government have failed to convince the government to provide financial assistance to the affected families.
