Early Times Report

Jammu, June 24: In a bid to accommodate their favourites for ulterior reasons Vice Chancellor, Professor RD Sharma in connivance with Director Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) university of Jammu appointed persons on various posts violating rules and regulations governing appointments in the varsity.
Sources informed that one Computer Assistant, five junior assistants, one electrician and three office boys were appointed by adopting channels of out sourcing in order to avoid competition and discourage most genuine and available well qualified persons for appointments in DDE.
Sources further divulged that university administration under the administrative control of Prof RD Sharma has been indulging into violations of university rules and statutes on many occasions during his tenure and also gave go ahead to Director DDE for selective appointment of blue eyed persons in DDE of their own sweet will setting aside university recruitment rules.
Sources alleged that university administration or Director DDE has no satisfactory answer to illegal appointments adopting means diametrically opposite to the established recruitment rules even as several regular university employees are available on the establishment of university to be shifted to DDE to tide over paucity of staff, if any, but who cares, sources bemoaned.
Expressing apprehension of big recruitment scam in DDE and other wings of university, sources alleged that the modus operandi of out sourcing adopted by university administration appears to be a ploy to finally ensure backdoor entry of these appointees for job on regular basis at the appropriate opportunity clandestinely, which needs to be looked into before it gets too late.
Sources urged the new Governor administration, who is also the Chancellor of Jammu university to take cognizance of these startling revelations and launch thorough probe to find out the nexus working in the University to appoint people illegally on pick and choose policy and throwing away the advertisement process and recruitment rules into the dustbin.
