SP Rural conducts police public meeting at Khour

Khour, July 18: In order to take stock of the security situation in the border areas of Sub-Division Akhnoor and other related local issues being faced by the general public, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural-Dushyant Sharma today organized a police public meeting at Khour police station.
At the start of visit to Border Sub-division, a detailed meeting with regard to intelligence sharing and other border issues was held with Brigade Commander -191 Brigade in his office chamber at Pallanwala. Thereafter, SP paid visit to Khour police station and different police posts viz. Police post Pallanwala, police post Jourian etc. At the end visit, a PCPG meeting was conducted at Khour police station in which Senior Citizens and general public from Khour, Pallanwala, Chak Malal, Bakore and Pangali etc. were present.
DySP Munish Anand-SDPO-Akhnoor, Inspector Joginder Singh-SHO Khour also participated in the said meeting. The main aim and objective behind conducting such kind of meeting was to hear and redress the genuine grievances of the people of these areas being faced by them in their day to day life.
A thread bear discussion were held with the participants of the meeting especially with regard to surveillance over drug paddlers, bovine smugglers, cease fire violations by PAK Rangers in border areas, stopping the menace of alcoholism, present security scenario, maintenance of law and order and proper verification of outsiders who use to visit their respective areas, activation and alerting of VDC members besides utilization of their services.
They were advised that in case of any problem or having any clue about the drug paddlers, bovine smugglers, anti-national, anti-social elements (ANEs/ASEs) or any other security related issues, the same should be brought into the notice of concerned police station of the area for immediate action. They were further advised that the information related to minor crimes happening in their respective areas be brought to the notice of territorial Police, so that before these crimes could take the shape of heinous crime they are curbed immediately. They were further advised that the overloading and rash driving could not be tolerated. Furthermore, they were advised that prominent persons/youth of the area should keep vigil over the drug consuming youth for their rehabilitation through various drugs De-addiction centers. They were advised to immediately bring to the notice of territorial officers besides concerned police station if any incident of bovine smuggling happens for taking legal action against the culprits, instead of taking law in their own hands to avoid any kind of communal tension/law and order problem. They were further advised to remain extra vigilant in their respective areas so as to check any kind of anti-national/anti-social activities as well as to forestall the nefarious designs of these elements. The participants were heard very patiently and were also advised to educate the youth to follow traffic rules by avoiding rash driving, using of crash helmet while driving two wheelers, possessing of valid documents like driving license, RC etc. and cooperate with local Police.
