APS Damana organizes 'English Declamation Competition'

Jammu, Aug 8: Army Public School Damana organized Sahodya Inter School English Declamation Competition on the occasion of International Youth Day. The Theme for the declamation was "Empowered Youth as Partners for Change". 23 schools participated in the competition with the total of 46 participants.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brig Abhijit Chandra, SM, Chairman of Army Public School, Damana and the Guest of Honour was Mita Chandra, Chairperson FWO, Chenab Brigade. The event started with the lighting of the digital lamp by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour followed by Vandana song by the students of APS Damana. After which a motivational speech was delivered by Vikrant Mahajan on the role of positive attitude in our lives, the meaning of being "Empowered" and how being "Empowered" can play a major role in bringing a change in society. The judges for the declamation competition were Usha Shamindra, Retired Assistant Commissioner KV Sangathan and Dr Depankar Sen Gupta Senior Professor, Department of Economics, University of Jammu. The participants bagged 13 prizes in all. Out of which 10 were consolation. The first prize was won by Azim-ul-haq from Heritage Public School. On second place was Himakshi Vinay from GD Goenka and on third position was Tanishka Rakwal from Air Force School. The students of APS Damana won consolation prizes.
