Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Aug 10: Government Middle School (GMS) Incha in tehsil Ramnagar is lacking the basic infrastructure and is also in dilapidated condition. This reporter on visiting the school found that the school is only having three rooms with approximately 60 students' strength where one room is used as office and the remaining two rooms have been used as classrooms. Moreover, roof of one of the rooms is damaged and during rainfall, the water enters in the classrooms from the broken roof. Students are facing a lot of problems due to this but still they are continuing their education in the same school as there is no alternate for them. The school falls in Kulwanta Zone and locals informed that the matter was taken up several times with the concerned authorities but nothing has been done on ground yet. The locals expressed grave concern over the lack of infrastructural facilities adding that at least minimum amenities should be made available for the school as the students from nearby villages have no other alternative to pursue studies up to the middle level.
Locals have appealed to the Governor to look into the matter so that the poor students may also get a chance of availing good facilities at the school.
When contacted, concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Tara Chand, said that the repair work for roof of the class room will be taken up shortly.
