Transfer industry 'flourishes' in PHE department

SRINAGAR, Aug 17: The Public Health Engineering (PHE) department has turned out to be a transfer industry as many employees including technical as well as ministerial staff were transferred by virtue of different orders.
According to order number 140/PHE/Estt of 2018 issued on 10-8-2018, Manzoor Ahmad Shah (Junior Engineer, Civil) has been transferred from Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal to PHE Division Handwara against an available vacancy. Furqan Ahmad Shah (Junior Engineer Civil) has been transferred to PHE Division Kupwara from Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal.
According to the same order Aijaz Ahmad Bala (Junior Engineer Civil) PHE Division Tangmarg has been transferred to PHE Division Handwara against an available vacancy. Mohammad Shafi Kanna (Junior Engineer Civil) has been asked to report to Executive Engineer, PHE Division Kupwara from his present place of posting of PHE Division Baramulla.
When this order is analyzed it comes to the fore that PHE Division Handwara and PHE Division Kupwara is facing shortage of engineers more so junior engineers civil and it was after a deep slumber that few civil engineers have been deputed to both these divisions. However, at the same time it remains to be seen as when the positions vacated by these engineers would be filled.
The PHE Divisions of Baramulla, Handwara and Kupwara were facing shortfall of other employees like head assistants, senior assistants and junior assistants. According to order number 136/PHE/Estt of 2018 dated 10-8-2018 as many as nine in-charge head assistants, senior assistants and junior assistants were transferred.
According to this order Shabir Ahmad Shah, in-charge Head Assistant has been transferred from PHE Division Baramulla to PHE Division Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Hakeem, Senior Assistant has been transferred to PHE Division Kupwara from PHE Division Baramulla, Mehraj Ahmad Balroo, Senior Assistant has been transferred from PHE Division Baramulla to PHE Division Bandipora.
Junior Assistants Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Mohammad Arif Wani, Peer Waheed Ahmad Shah and two others have been transferred from PHE Division Baramulla, PHE Division Bandipora and PHE Division to PHE Division Budgam, PHE Division Sopore, PHE Mechanical Division Srinagar and PHE Division Baramulla respectively. Abdul Rashid Dar, in-charge Senior Assistant has been transferred from PHE Mechanical Division (North), Sopore to PHE Division Baramulla.
