Anantnag, August 27: Violent clashes between police and youth broke out in South Kashmir's Anantnag District on Monday morning after reports suggesting Supreme Court will hear a petition challenging Article 35-A
Reports said that a group of youth assembled in Lal Chowk Anantnag and started pelting stones on police vehciles.
Forces retailed back by firing tear smoke shells to disperse the stone pelters.
Clashes were going on when this repory was beinc filled.
Supreme Court will likely hear a petition challenging Article 35-A today, however the case related to #Article 35-A will be heard by the apex court likely on 31st of this month.
Seperatist groups in Jammu and Kashmir has already announced a strike call om 30 and 31 of August to protest against the scraping of #Article 35A that gurantees specail rights to people of Jammu and Kashmir. |
