Jodhamal emerges champion at Sahodaya Swimming Competition

JAMMU, Aug 27: Jodhamal Public School hosted Sahodaya Complex Inter School Swimming Competition.
On the occasion, the chief guest in the opening ceremony was Ranjit Kalra the only Member of the BCCI from Jammu and the Vice Chairman of the Sports Council J&K. More than 16 schools participated in the event. Chief Guest Mr. Ranjit Kalra gave away the Prizes of the first day of the Tournament on 25th August 2018. The event saw Mr. Vikrant Kuthiala as the Chief Guest on the Closing Ceremony who witnessed the finest of the relay competitions and gave away the prizes of the Final day today. Mr. Kalra & Mr. Kuthiala both had appreciated the initiative of Jodhamal Public for hosting this Sahodaya event with such wondertful pool and infrastructure with so much of punctuality. They said that such competitions would bring the kids close to each other and a feeling of healthy competition will be percolated down and we can have some of the National Swimmers from J & K State.
The participants took part in various events with gusto and enthusiasm. More than 300 students participated in categories like freestyle-100 & 50 meter, breast stroke, back stroke, Butterfly stroke, free style relay,medley 50 meters, relay etc. in all age group categories. All the events were played under various categories like under 10, 12, 14, 17 for both boys and girls.
Chief Guest Ranjit Kalra declared the event open by the clapper for the first event of the day.
The rolling championship trophy was bagged by Jodhamal Public School, while Heritage school bagged the First runners up and second runners up was jointly won by K C International School & J K Public School..
The event was organized under the aegis of CBSE Sahodaya School Complex Jammu.
The best part of the tournament was the officials and the judges for this competition were all from Different Sahodaya Member schools. Schools were awarded 10 points for Gold, 5 points for Silver and 3 points for Bronze Medals. Jodhamal Public School won 27 Gold, 14 Silver and 01 Bronze; Heritage School won the runners up Trophy by winning 10 Gold, 14 Silver & 11 Bronze ; K C International & J K Public won the joint third by winning 4 Gold, 03 Silver,8 Bronze and 03 Gold, 08 Silver & 03 Bronze respectively.
Principal Trilok Singh Bist and Vice Principal Shefali Sanwal appreciated the Oragnising Secretary Sukomal Ganguly , Swimming Coaches Pooja Bassan & David Sandhu, Sports staff comprising of Geetanjali , Aruna, Akash, Vishal, Vinod, Harjeet, Kamal Anand, Ritish and above all the CCA Coordinator Nandani Bakshi for making it such a huge success. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by the Principal who thanked all the Principals of the participating Schools, Sports Staff of all schools and the Compares Anahita Anand, Karmanya Wahi, Anmol Sharma & Prakhar Bist.
