Seminar on Fire Safety in School organized

JAMMU, Aug 27: A seminar on 'Fire Safety in School' was organized today at GGHSS Rehari Jammu. The School took an initiative for its staff and students by organizing and conducting a live session on fire safety.
An experienced and a proficient team of J&K Fire and Emergency Services were welcomed by the school staff along with the fire fighting staff and the students. The accomplished experts of J&K Fire and Emergency Services, Vijay Kumar (S.G Fireman) demonstrated a fire prevention plan to staff and students and how to acquit oneself during the fire emergencies.
All important measures and precautions to be taken during fire, were delivered to the staff and students by the experts; like Do Not play with match box; Do Not Hide in closets or under beds when there is fire, instead Go Outside; to escape during a fire, Fall And Crawl; if your clothes are on fire, Stop, Drop and Roll until the fire is out; never go back into a burning building for any reason; if someone is missing tell the firefighters, they have the clothing and equipment to safely rescue the people and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Subash Vocational instructor said that fire destroys property, cause injuries and takes lives. One of the key strategies to maintain a safe workplace and prevent fires is the fire safety training. He thanked the skilled team of J&K Fire and Emergency Services by presenting them with the souvenirs on behalf of GGHSS Rehari for imparting the knowledge about the same to staff and students.
Shashikant Lakhanpal stated that every school must take necessary precautions in order to prevent anything untoward from happening in the case of an emergency, like fire. He further elaborated that the school takes these kinds of emergencies on serious note and is all prepared for such situations.
