Srinagar, Aug 29: At least 10 to 15 militants fired in air to give gun salute to slain Altaf Ahmad at Hawoora village of Kulgam. Thousands of people assembled in the native village of slain commander and attended his funeral. Besides pro-Pakistan sloganeering, people waved Pakistani flags and raised anti-India slogans.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted in Khudwani between youth and government forces after the encounter ended. Dozens of people suffered injuries during these clashes.
Restrictions were imposed in some parts of Anantnag district in view of the killing of top HM commander and internet was also snapped in Anantnag and Kulgam after the gunfight erupted in the morning. |
