Jammu, Sept 4: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) posted as Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) in one of the Sub-Divisions of Jammu Zone is dancing on the tunes of a local Member MLA of BJP.
"Whether FIR has to be registered in an issue or it is sorted up outside the police station is being decided by the MLA", said a police source, adding that without the consent of the MLA, SDPO never scales even a single step and the MLA used to dictate the SDPO on the telephone.
"The SDPO always takes the MLA in confidence for each and every decision related to his jurisdiction," said sources.
"Even minor issues of the jurisdiction of SDPO are being managed by the said MLA", said sources, adding that locals do not utter a single word against the SDPO and MLA.
The height of the lawlessness can be gauged from the fact that on the directions of MLA, the SDPO managed transfer of one of the Station House Officer (SHO) by bitching about the SHO before senior officials, maintained sources.
If sources are to be believed, the story of SDPO and MLA is known to each and every officer of the district owing which a police station, whose SHO was transferred by the senior officials after the SDPO started his back biting, fell vacant as the new SHO is not willing to join the new place of posting just to keep himself away from any controversy.
Sources maintained that the bond of the SDPO and MLA has rendered the SSP speechless as he is helplessly watching all the things. |
