Udhampur, Sept 09: The promise of transforming flood hit Sadal - Panjar village into modern village by none other than MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh appears to have turned hollow.
It is pertinent to mention that heavy rains triggered devastating floods of Sept 2014 along with landslides at many places.
One such landslide triggered by heavy rains in 2014 took entire Sadal -Panjar village in tehsil Mondri and distric Udhampur under its debris thereby completely destroying the village where many people and animals were killed and housed destroyed.
Locals inform that during the inauguration of Sankri Mela and Mondri mela some ministers and other bigwigs visit this place else none pays any heed as to what is going on there and how the devastation hit people are living.
Bishan-a resident of the village Sadal informed that they live in tents and with big difficulty manage two times meal while the government has so far done nothing for them.
A lady of this landslide hit village said that everyone had concern for her village but "now it appears that all that was to rub salt on our wounds."
The poor sufferers of landslide in Sadal village have appealed to the governor and dc Udhampur Ravinder Kumar to look into their plight and take steps to rehabilitate them.
