Two Drug peddlers escape from police custody

Udhampur, Sept 11: In a major embarrassment to the state police, two drug peddlers escaped from the custody at Police station udhampur. The incident has raised serious question mark on the conduct and intention of the cops . The notorious drug peddlers were arrested for possession and proliferation of narcotics in Udhampur.
Senior Superintended of Police Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat while talking to Early times said that four cops on duty at that time had been suspended till further order and Station House Officer Police station udhampur Vijay choudhary has been attached in District Police lines udhampur for negligence in duty Rayees Bhat Said.
Reports said that during the intervening night of 10-11/09/2018, two narcotic smuggling accused namely Iftikhar Ali S/o Muzzafar Din R/o Kotli Bain, Chopra Shop Udhampur and Parvinder Singh @ Pammu S/o Rattan Singh R/o Talab Salain Udhampur who were under arrest in Police Custody in NDPS cases bearing FIR No. 448/2018 and 462/2018 respectively fled away from Police Station Udhampur due to the grave negligence of the sentry on duty along with a theft suspect.
Three Police teams have been constituted to raid various suspected locations of these smugglers so that both of them could be nabbed at the earliest. Four Police Officials found responsible for this grave negligence have been suspended besides registration of FIR against sentry of Police Station Udhampur.
