Jammu wins inter district tennis ball cricket tournament

Jammu, Sept 17: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports the Inter District Division Level tournament of Tennis Ball Cricket witnessed the competitions for under-17 years Girls here at Sports Stadium Kathua.
A total of 39 players of three districts viz. Kathua, Samba, Jammu participated for today's competitions. District Jammu lifted the trophy of Under 17 years girlss by defeating district Samba in final match.
Jammu opted to field by winning the toss. Jammu while batting first collected 90 runs in prescribe 12 overs by losing 5 wickets. Sehrish of Jammu made 14 runs of 11 balls. Tamanna of Jammu clinched 2 wickets in 3 overs by giving 21 runs.
While chasing the target Samba could collect only 46 runs by losing 8 wickets.
Rudhrakshi of Jammu capped 2 wickets in 3 overs by giving just 4 runs. Aanvi of Samba made 18 runs off 26 balls . Tamanna added 8 runs in 14 balls. Hence, Jammu won the final match by 46 runs.
Earlier, Samba defeated the host Kathua by 7 runs in opening match wherein Samba made 68 runs in 12 overs with losing 5 wickets and Kathua declined at 61.
Today's matches were officiated why technical panel comprising of Avnesh Kumar, Mohan Lal, Kulbushan Singh, Sandeepan Sharma, Tarsem Sharma, Naresh Kumar. ZPEOs Rajesh Kumar, Pardeep Singh, Ganesh Dass, activity in-charge Kuldeep Singh, Dharminder Singh, Rampaul, Sham Lal, Mohinder Paul, Jyoti Devi were also present on the occasion.
