Jammu, Sept 18: An officer in Jammu and Kashmir Tourisms Development Corporation, allegedly a backdoor appointee has hijacked functioning of the corporation in Jammu division.
According to insiders, the blue eyed officer was appointed through illegal means without any vacancy or advertisement.
"He was promoted in very short span of time against huge consideration and is now working at one place of posting for the last over five years. Presently he is influencing finance affairs of the corporation", sources in JKTDC informed Early Times and added that being powerful under the patronage of top bosses he has fixed cut of five percent for releasing all payments.
They said that in the corporation everybody knows that he has been overstaying on same post for long time, but nobody bothers to transfer him.
"Being a back door appointee he is enjoying the best place of posting. Crossing all limits that officer allegedly is making fudged bills in to the account books thereby takes huge amount. Using his extraordinary 'skills' he has amassed huge property", they alleged.
They said that since he has vast experience of manipulating things, he has also hoodwink income tax department by filling factually incorrect property statement, in violation of the standing rules, as his claimed property does not match with he, possess.
"Governor and his administration leaving no stone unturned to tight the nose of corrupt officers/officials, the matter of unabated corruption in the JKTDC be investigated to unearth the scam he has committed during his stay in the corporation", they said added that if he is shifted from this place and a special audit of the record is conducted for the period he remained in accounts many scandals will come to light.
They said that despite what he calls 'smartwork' there was a huge cash difference between the cash book cash balance and physical cash available in the chest. "It may also be investigated that as to how many files of the contractors/ suppliers are lying pending for disposal with the said officials", they said that and added that finding will narrate everything done by the officer.
