Parking place converted into Amusement Park
Doodh Pathri meadow under threat

Early Times Report
Budgam, Sept 23: At a time when Government claims to give a boost to eco- tourism across state, Doodh Pathri Development Authority (DDA) has allotted a parking place to a blue eyed contractor who has developed the same into an Amusement Park.
Details available with Early Times reveal that an Engineer of Doodh Pathri Development Authority (DDA) after taking huge graft from a Tangmarg based contractor has allocated a parking lot to him. The contractor has developed the said patch of land into an amusement park around June this year. Sources told Early Times that people are now parking their vehicles inside the meadow which has destroyed the natural beauty of this virgin tourist destination.
"This all is happening because there is nobody to manage Doodh Pathri Development Authority (DDA) from last 3 years. The Additional DC Budgam is the incharge CEO of DDA. Crores of rupees were spent on construction of Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) at Tangnad near Doodh Pathri , but people term it a wasteful expenditure. Even there are office chambers for various officers and engineers of DDA at the TRC , but the officials hardly come to Tangnad and instead operate from a rented building in Budgam. "DDA is becoming a den of corruption, we appeal Advisor Khusrhid Ganai to intervene" said Fayaz Ahmad a resident of Raiyar village located near Doodh Pathri
"We see people, mostly youngsters, coming here to booze or to carry out other illicit activities. Police is not at all doing anything. We have never seen any Tourist Police official at Doodh Pathri" said another local resident Ghulam Hassan.
