Wani's killing eye opener for Pak stooges glorifying terror
10/11/2018 11:18:27 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 11: Security Forces killing Manan Wani, self styled commander of Hizbul Mujahideen, in a clean operation in north Kashmir's Handwara area on Thursday is a big setback for the people who have been eulogizing terror and projecting terrorists as "heroes."
Wani was enrolled as a PhD scholar with the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) before picking up gun. He had joined the militant ranks in January this year and since then separatists and others were selling him as the "role model" for the youth who want to pick up the arms.
An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "People who are instigating youth to pick up arms are not the well wishers of Kashmiris. They are their biggest enemies who are making them choose death over life."
He said that soon after Wani was killed separatists started shedding crocodile tears over his killing and called for a shutdown in Kashmir on Friday. "It's unfortunate that Kashmir has been turned into a graveyard and these separatists have been building their mansions on the bodies of the Kashmiri youth," he added.
A politician said, "Manan Wani's killing should serve as an eye opener for the youth who have taken up the arms. They need to realize that they cannot take on the Security Forces and if they don't surrender they are destined to get killed."
He said that the people who are glorifying violence and terrorism should bear in mind that coming generations of Kashmiris would never forgive them as they have turned them into canon-fodder just to appease their bosses sitting across the Line of Control and the ones who provide them with the stipend every month. "Pakistan sponsored terrorism has been bleeding India and Kashmir as well. People of Kashmiri need to introspect and see for themselves what they are losing," the politician added.
A top police official said that the Security Forces have tightened their noose around the terrorists operating in the Valley. "If they don't surrender then their days are numbered. Manan Wani's killing has hit the Hizbul Mujahideen below its belt as the outfit was trying to revive militancy in north Kashmir through Wani," he said.
Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the president of Peoples Democratic Party Mehbooba Mufti once again proved that her party is inclined towards Pakistan. After Wani's killing she took to twitter and wrote: "Today a PhD scholar chose death over life & was killed in an encounter. His death is entirely our loss as we are losing young educated boys every day. It is high time that all the political parties in the country realise the gravity of this situation and try to facilitate a solution through dialogue with all the stake holders including Pakistan to end this bloodshed."
A Kashmir watcher while taking a dig at Mehbooba said, "Rather than advocating talks with Pakistan, Mehbooba should Kashmiri youth to give up arms and join the mainstream. She should stop harping about holding talks with Pakistan as that country is directly responsible for Kashmir turning into a battlefield."
