Oil tanker drivers protest outside Depots | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 15: Dozens of drivers of oil tankers and LPG trucks under the banner of All J&K Oil Tanker Drivers Union staged a protest outside oil depots railhead Jammu against the traffic police for their dictatorial attitude towards the drivers. President of Union, Sardar Ranjeet Singh Raina said that several Ladakh and Srinagar bound oil and LPG carrying tanks and trucks departed from Jammu of week ago but traffic personnels harass them at after every 20 kms at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. "They are made to stop for days together he also blamed that at these stops there is no water, food and toilets facilities available for the drivers", they said. Earlier in the day the union members S. Harasis Singh, S. Devinder Singh, S. Sohan Singh also protested outside the oil depot at Railhead, Jammu and stop the supply of oil products for a while. Later they also submitted a memorandum to the Divisional Commissioner. |
