JAMMU, Oct 23: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has lambasted and vehemently condemned Omar Abdullah former CM J&K state and others for opposing the circulation of Kashmiri version of Gita and Ramayana translated by late Sarwanad Premi, in the schools, colleges, libraries and other institutions in the state. Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC, in a statement issued said those who cannot tolerate one Hindu religious book in schools, colleges and other institutions in the valley, how they could tolerate Hindus in the valley adding that their claim that they favour KPs return to valley proved false by this act. This intolerance and hate has fully exposed their inner mindset against the Hindu of the state, in particular of Kashmiri Pandits. It is unfortunate that they have no objection to spread and introduce Jihadi and Islamic culture in the valley, but not accepted pious books like Gita and Ramayana which teach humanity, peace and love. The suggestion to have religious books of different religions is welcome, but to oppose the circulation of Gita and Ramayana in Kashmiri language which teach man a way of life is an acceptable argument and is unfortunate. Kundan Kashmiri also expressed dismay, anguish and anger against state administration for withdrawing the letter for circulation of said religious books after succumbing under the pressure of separatists, semi-separatist of the valley which has hurt the sentiments of Hindu community in general and Kashmiri Pandits in particular. |
