Early Times Report
srinagar, Oct 23: Hypocrisy of two local main stream political parties viz Peoples Democratic Party and National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir has come to the fore with the surfacing of the photographs and videos of jubilation of their proxy candidates win in Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections after they announced to boycott the ULB and Panchayat elections over the issue of non committal of New Delhi towards safe guarding the Article 370 and Article 35-A of the constitution.
As per the details available with Early Times both the parties were in race to lure the independent candidates to ensure their joining into the groups of ward members backed by both the parties.
Several videos and photos of Independent candidates throughout the state of Jammu and Kashmir surfaced on social media wherein the senior party leaders were seen welcoming the party's proxy candidates as well as other independent candidates.
In a glaring example of changing of camps from PDP acclaimed group to NC acclaimed group and back to PDP backed group is being witnessed in Kishtwar District where an Independent candidate from Ward. No. 3 of Kishtwar Municipal Committee Zahid Hussain is being seen changing loyalty from one party to other like see-saw game where a pendulum changes from one way to other way.
Zahid according to the people of his ward join the National Conference after all his voters and neighbors unanimously suggested him to join the party as the people who voted for him are traditionally considered as NC vote bank. Six other independents who joined NC and had reportedly assembled over a dinner party to discuss the modalities and priorities in developmental sector.
In the photographs released by the National Conference yesterday, Zahid Hussain was seen with MLC Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo and NC District President Tanveer Ahmed Kichloo and other NC leaders at the residence of another independent who won from Ward. No. 5, beside the video in which he (Zahid) was seen signing on the letter of support out of his own will.
Following the release of Photographs by the NC, PDP also release his photographs in which he (Zahid) was seen rubbing his shoulders with PDP District President Kishtwar Sheikh Nasir Hussain and District Youth President Wasil Doolwal and alongside is senior PDP leader Ishtaq Ahmed Dar.
