DSS announces 114th annual general council meeting
11/5/2018 9:28:57 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Nov 5: The Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) made official announcement of its 114th Annual General Council Meeting to be held on November 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at teacher's Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
The Governor J&K, Satya Pal Malik and General VK Singh Union MoS have been requested to be the chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Members of DSS from the whole State, other states as well as from the overseas chapters of the DSS are also likely to attend this special 'AJLAS',
The one day general council AJLAS will deliberate upon various issues facing the Dogra region in particular and of the J&K state in general; and pass important resolutions to be presented to the Hon'ble Governor and Union Govt. of India.
DSS will also honour Dogra distinguished achievers in various fields including especially abled sportspersons. The event will also be utilized to adopt and honour some Vir Naris and families of the armed forces personnel martyred in action while fighting for protection of the mother land, in coordination with the Directorate of Sainik Welfare Department. A short cultural programme is also planned to show case the national ethos and traditional Dogra culture. A brochure and documentary on history and charter of DSS will also be released on the occasion.
The event will be held at the Teachers Bhawan (next to Govt. Hospital) Gandhi Nagar, Jammu as per the programme made by the Sabha.
The DSS took serious view of the brutal cold blooded murder of prominent politician Late Sh. Anil Parihar and his brother at Kisthwar. Such incidents of targeting the nationalist and members of a particular community were noticed in the early 90s. This appears to be renewal of efforts to cause communal discord and revive militancy in Jammu region. DSS strongly condemns this development and pay homage to the departed souls. We urge upon the Government to identify and punish the culprits in an urgent and firm action.
