Interrupted power supply, strike by casual/need based employees severly affected water supply

Rajouri, Nov 5: Water supply in many parts of the district, especially in the towns including Rajouri district headquarter, has been crippled due to strike by the need based, casual and daily wager workers and inclement weather. been demanding regularization and immediate release of their long pending salaries and had earlier warned to stop water supply
Water supply has been badly affected due to employee's strike and many parts in Rajouri town and in its vicinity are without water for the last 5-10 days and the people are made to suffer due to mismanagement in the department following strike by these workers.
"The senior officers of the department have failed badly to utilize properly/ effectively the service of permanent staff that resulted in chaos in the department as well as among the inhabitants.
"No water supply was made in Chaprian and Jawahar Nagar area for the last more than 10 days despite several remainders to district administration / PHE officers" said Ravi Verma.
On Friday the inhabitants of Danidhar had blocked Rajouri-BGSB university road for several hours in the morning resulting the students, faculty members and other officials to reach the university late.
"The supply of water from Tariq Bridge bore well has been made functional in the morning and soon the people will get regular water supply as per schedule: said District Information Officer (DIO) N. Raina.
"Inhabitants of village Dalogra and its adjoining areas have not been supplied safe water by the department for the last 4 days" said Shakti Sharma a, journalist.
The department has been facing multiple problems in streamlining the water supply which includes strike by daily wagers/ need based and casual workers, interrupted power supply and technical problems at the dug wells, filtration plant providing water to these areas" said M.Hamid , Junior Engineer.
