Transfer of XEn REW: Tussle between NPP, DDC comes to fore
11/8/2018 11:23:00 PM
Early Times Report

jammu, Nov 8: The matter of seeking transfer of Executive Engineer (ExEn), Rural Engineering Wing (REW) of the Rural Development Department, who happens to be a brother of National Panther Party candidate in upcoming Panchayat elections, has become a bone of contention between NPP and DDC of the concerned district.
The brother of the ExEn was heard challenging the DDC for her move to transfer the officer by writing to higher authority. "We know very well that a former BJP minister has been mounting pressure on the DDC to transfer the ExEn. However hard DDC may try, she can't get my brother transferred," he challenged.
Sources told Early Times that BJP was citing the reason for transfer of the officer in connection with free, fair and transparent Panchayat elections. They expressed apprehension that the officer can influence the elections to ensure the victory of his contesting brother.
"The officer is claimed to have strong connections in higher ups which has become a great problem for other contestants covertly backed by BJP," sources said, adding that the BJP leader has very close affiliation with the concerned DDC and she has been following his order to pave the way for their contestants.
Pertinently, the DDC had written a letter to Secretary Rural Development Department in October seeking transfer of the XEn from her district as his brother has been contesting Panchayat elections from the same district.
But astonishingly the officer has been enjoying at the post in the same district as he has managed to get prior court stay order.
