Early Times Report
kishtwar, Nov 12: As the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the killing of BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar is moving ahead with its investigation, the shocking details with regard to failure of Kishtwar Police in assimilating the credible inputs with regard to presence of militants in Kishtwar town have emerged and it is believed that the same inefficiency on part of the security forces led to the killings of Parihar brothers on 1-11-2018 evening.
As per the details available with Early Times, Kishtwar police and army on the bases of the specific input about the presence of Lashkar militant Sajjad Khanday and his associate on 5-9-2018 launched a search and cordon operation in Malik Mohallah Kishtwar which lasted for nearly 2 hours and later the security forces returned empty handed.
The sources told the Early Times that the negligence on part of a senior police officer derailed the operation despite the fact that police had all the relevant details pertaining to the presence of the militants in the area including the pin point location on Google map.
The sources said that instead of taking the input seriously, the security forces who were engaged in the operation against the militants didn't seal the entire area and leave the routes open for the militants who escape the police cordon easily with the help of the local helpers.
The surprising part of the inefficiency on part of the police could be judged from the fact that a senior police officer made several calls on the mobile number of a militant by using the mobile number of his Personal Security Officer which was not picked up by the militant who continuously disconnected the calls made by the officer.
The sources said that had the Kishtwar police acted professionally, the militant Sajjad Khanday could been arrested or eliminated itself on the very same day and thus the killings of the Parihar brothers could have been avoided.
The sources said that following which another input was providing about him to Kishtwar police by Kashmir counterpart, but again the officer failed to act and instead of going on specific route given by the Kashmir counterpart, the officer mistakenly travel to another route which gives ample time to the militants to reach the safe heaven.
Meanwhile the sources said that NIA is likely to take the lead in arresting highly influential persons who provided logistic support to militants in carrying out the terror activities in Kishtwar town and its peripheral areas. The sources said that NIA with the help of Kishtwar police has prepared a list of people who were directly or indirectly involved in militancy or act as an OGW will be arrested and prosecuted as per the provision of the law. The sources said that within next few days, the NIA is likely to take over the remaining investigation in the sensational murder of Parihar brothers.
