Village Lambardar campaigns in Panchayat elections
'Violation of MCC in Sunderbani'
11/13/2018 10:39:52 PM
Early Times Report

Sunderbani, Nov 13: In a sheer violation of Model Code of Conduct, a village lambardar of Panchayat Nallah Makkol in Tehsil Sundebani has been campaigning in some villages in favour of certain candidates in upcoming panchayat elections which are slated to be held on November 29, 2018.
Sources told Early Times that the Lamberdar has been conducting door to door campaign in four villages including Nallah, Makkol, Nahoti and Barnara and instructing people to vote for these candidates. He is allegedly wooing the voters of providing them pucca houses from government assistance, free PHE water connections, and government jobs to the unemployed youths.
"He has been boasting among the gullible people to have strong connections with senior officials to get all above said works done. This lambardar is already notorious for his misdeeds in many cases and booked under an FIR registered in Police Station Sunderbani," they alleged furthering adding that people lodged complaints against the Lambardar to concerned Tehsildar but no action was taken. Although many attempts were made to contact DDC Rajouri, his mobile phone was continuously switched off.
