| DB directs Div Com Jammu to appear in person | | PIL regarding delay over Artificial lake, Mubarak Mandi Gandola projects | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 14: In a Public Interest Litigation filed Inderjeet Khajuria President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association Jammu espouses public causes including creation of Artificial Lake in River Tawi and Gandola Project from Mubarakh Mandi to Bahu Fort, a Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Alok Aradhe directed Divisional Commissioner Jammu to be present on next date of hearing.
DB sought appearance of Divisional Commissioner Jammu as Shamim Wani, Managing Director, Cable Car Corporation disclosed that land which is urgently required for completion of the project had not been handed over by the concerned authorities. DB observed that Some other aspects which have been pointed by the counsel for the petitioner were brought to our notice. One relates to the dumping of garbage along the banks of the river Tawi. Another issue which could arise is defacement of the public properties including that of the Cable Car Corporation. Upon this Division Bench directed State to explain this aspect on next date of hearing. |
