DEO Rajouri puts 11 employees on notice for missing election training

Rajouri, Nov 15: On the directions of the District Election Officer (DEO) who is also Deputy Commissioner (DC), an explanation has been sought from 111 employees for remaining absent from the scheduled election training.
Vide Additional Commissioner Development (ACD) letter No.ACD/PE/41-90 dt 11/11/2018, who is also Nodal Officer for Training & Management, the training for the polling staff was fixed at government Post Graduation college at Rajouri in two batches.
Most of the Presiding/Polling Officers remained present for training being imparted by the DLMTs during both the sessions.
But one hundred eleven employees failed to attend the training schedule despite repeated intimations/information to them.
Taking the dereliction in election duty seriously by these employees, DEO directed Deputy DEO to seek explanations from the erring officials before initiating disciplinary against them.
Deputy DEO vide explanation notice dated 14/11/2018 has directed one hundred eleven employees to submit their replies to show cause notice.
Important to mention that the election for Panchyats will be held in Manjakot and Panjgrain blocks during first phase on November 17.
For 35 Panchayats in these two blocks 121 candidates are in fray for 35 posts of Sarpanches and 468 candidates trying their luck for 253 constituencies of panches. Similarly, for the second phase of Panchyat elections scheduled for 20/11/2018, the training for the election staff was scheduled today. But 52 employees failed to reach the training venue at PG College Rajouri. Sher Singh, Deputy DEO (also ADC) vide his office show cause notice dt 15/11/2018 has sought explanation from these employees before initiating disciplinary action under CSR Election Laws for dereliction of duties.
