Road Safety Club lifts 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup

JAMMU, Nov 26: Road Safety Club (RSC) trounced Simula Cricket Club (SCC) by 28 runs in a keenly fought contest and lifted the 7th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup, which was organized by Zonal Police Headquarters Jammu in collaboration with Simula Cricket Club, KC Sports Club and Vishal Cricket Club under the supervision of Dr SD Singh Jamwal IGP Jammu, at KC Sports Ground Jammu.
Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Jammu was the chief guest during the valedictory function while SSP J S Johar, SSP Kulbir Singh, Ranjeet Kalra-Member JKCA, Arjun Choudhary-Managing Partner KC Sports Group, SP Amritpal Singh, Viktant Sharma-Cluster Programming Head J&K 92.7 BIG FM were the guests of honour. The chief guest and other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up team. The medals and trophies were also distributed among the under-10 boys during the valedictory function.
Earlier, Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Player & Organizing Secretary of the event presented a detailed report about the seventeen- day long tournament in which 24 premier teams of the state and one team of Haryana participated covering around 384 players plus exhibition matches of under 10 boys and seniors players.
In the summit clash, Road Safety Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first. It scored 119 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply Simula Cricket Club could not chase the target and managed to score only 91 runs by losing all wickets thus lost the match by 28 runs.
Rinku of Road Safety was adjudged as Man of the match in final. Raman Dutta of Simula was declared best bowler, Lakhan of Vishal Cricket Club declared best batsman whereas Hinan of Road Safety declared man of the series for his brilliant batting.
