Absconding rape accused evading arrest since one year nabbed

REASI, Nov 27: Reasi police today claimed to have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest for last one year in a rape case.
Police spokesman said that today one person namely Nitish Kumar of Thillo, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi presently staying at Gadhal Reasi who was hiding in a house near Ballini bridge, Nagrota was apprehended by a special police team comprising of SI Nitin Khajuria, HC Baldev Singh and others under the close coordination of Inspector Ashwani Sharma-SHO Reasi.
The said accused was evading his arrest since past one year and had been changing his locations which made it difficult for the police team to apprehend him.
Acting swiftly on a tip off regarding the location of his hiding, a special police team from Police Station Reasi succeeded in apprehending the said accused along with a vehicle bearing registration number JK02AS-7578.
It is pertinent to mention here that this person was involved in a case under FIR No. 264/2017 under sections 363, 376-D and 343 of RPC, 4/25 Arms Act of Police Station Reasi. A co-accused in the same case namely Kuljeet Singh of Barnali Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi was apprehended one week earlier who was also apprehending his arrest. The said operation is carried out under the supervision of Dr Nikhil Gogna-DySP HQRS Reasi and close supervision of Nisha Nathyal-SSP Reasi.
