JAMMU, Nov 29: Civic Safaikarmchari Union (CSU) held a protest here today in favour of its demands. The protesting Safaikarmcharis led by the Union president Rinku Gill raised slogans against the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) authorities for ignoring their demands. While addressing the protesters, Gill said that four months ago 600 posts for the Safaikarmcharis were created by the JMC and it also issued a notification for the filling of forms. Several deserving candidates filled the form but how even after three months no progress has been made in ths regard, he added. Rinku Gill requested the Commissioner JMC to fill the vacancies created by the department as soon as possible otherwise the union will have no option rather than taking a strong action. Gill also demanded approval for 2 days salary and its release at the earliest since it is pending for the last seven months, considering the case of 33 contractual drivers for their regularization, reorganization of the JMC and release of salary of the skilled NGOs with effects as well as arrears. |
