Slow PF digitalization of records leaves thousands of cases in lurch
Provident fund office goes `dysfunctional'
12/2/2018 10:05:17 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 2: Provident fund refund has become a herculean task for the gullible employees of private sector as the officials deputed at Regional Provident Fund Office Jammu ask them to apply online but their digitalization system is not yet complete.
Reliable sources in PF organisation informed Early Times that the department concerned started the digitalisation of Provident Fund (PF) records of more than 4.5 Lakhs in the month of August this year and set the deadline of 100 days for its completion but unfortunately after lapse of one more month from the deadline, the process of digitalisation is still hanging in balance, resulting, the gullible employees running pillar to post to get their deposit money.
"However, the digitalisation of record was allotted to a Lucknow based firm- "Marg Software Solution", the work at snail's pace, has been depriving thousands of employees to get their provident money back", said sources while whishing anonymity.
Presently several thousand cases are registered in the Regional Provident Office Jammu since 2012, but the officials rather than settling their cases, once again asked them to apply online at district levels to get money back.
"From last two months, I frequently visiting the Jammu office and every time they have ignored my call", said an employee not to be mentioned here.
It is pertinent to mention here that in the month of November, the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Labour and Employment Department, Saurabh Bhagat inaugurated the digitalisation of PF record of 2.5 Lakhs employees and said that the PF record of three district of Jammu division viz Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch have been completed and rest would be completed soon but ironically this digitalisation is completed in papers only.
"The employees of these districts have also been running pillar to post to get their dues back but the district officials has asked them to go Regional office for clearance of file, it has become a modus operandi and the million dollar question arises where the digitisation is stands for ", alleged another employees.
The callousness on part of PF organisation can be gauged from this fact that some of the employers have voluntarily applied for getting Provident fund Code but due to slow pace of digitalisation has hampering the process.
