12/4/2018 9:09:56 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 4: Senior Congress leader and president DCC Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that youth of today is the driving force for tomorrow. India has 600 million i.e. approximately 65% of youth population but 30 % of them are unemployed.
He criticized the BJP government for its inability to provide jobs to young generation. Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that it is painful to see when govt. of India is trying to tell students passing out of top management & technical institutions to sell pakodas in order to hide their inability to provide 2 crore jobs that they have promised in their election manifesto.
He further said that it is the duty of the government to provide employment opportunities to the youth of country but present government has failed to utilize the positive energy of youth to drive nation towards development and prosperity. Highly educated youths with Master's degrees are now days are forced to apply for jobs of peons as they have no other option left to earn their livelihoods.
Sharma said that much publicized Government schemes like Make In India, Digital India, Start Up India, were all aimed at creating jobs for the country's youth but these schemes practically proved to be failure in creating job opportunities in productive way on ground level. He further lashed out at BJP government by saying that the rate of unemployment has increased from 3.4 % (2011-12) to approximately 4 % (2017-2018). As per statistical figures in major 8 sectors of manufacturing, trade, construction, education, health, information technology, transport and service sector only 6,41000 jobs were created from July 2014- December 2016. In comparison to this in the same sectors, 12,80000 jobs were created from July 2011- December 2013 by the UPA government.
