Birth Anniversary of V R Khajuria celebrated

Jammu, Dec 5: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Late V R Khajuria a renowned sculptor of the state and writer of two books in Dogri, Art and culture activities of Viraj Kala Kendra (VKK) commenced at Viraj Art Gallery, 300- A, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu with the conduct of Clay Modeling Competition for School Children and Exhibition of Sculptures by Ganesh Sharma, a well known sculptor and student of V R Khajuria. Kavinder Gupta, former Speaker, Legislative Assembly, J&K and Ex- Chief Minister, J&K, was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Sohail Kazmi, Senior Journalist and Editor Daily Taskeen Urdu and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, additional secretary were the guests of honour. Smt. Raj Bharti, President, VKK, Sarla Kohli, Vice- President, Susham Sharma, Secretary, VKK and Jang S. Verman, teachers, children and other distinguished guests were present on this occasion in the programme. 22nd Solo Show of Sculptures by Ganesh Sharma in memory of Late V R Khajuria was inaugurated by Kavinder Gupta on this occasion. Sculptures in Wood, Stone and Marble have been displayed in the Open Gallery of Viraj Kala Kendra.
Gupta appreciated the contribution of Ganesh Sharma who remembered his Guru and dedicated the exhibition to him.
